URBAN METAL #10 Line up:

21:00-21:30 - Abraham/ Post Hardcore/ Lausanne, Switzerland

Born in 1866 BC, Abraham lived a peaceful life near Sodom, marrying his half-sister and giving birth to all decent humankind when already aged far over 100 years. Those golden days have gone, but the virile power of his beard survived and spurted back in 2007 as a rock band. This happened in Lausanne, Switzerland. Since then, Abraham plaited songs with these ancestral hairs, songs weaved with violence and despair. Abraham created a barren aural landscape where grand rock faces of guitars loom large over occasional restrained moments of calm sublimity and haunting beauty.

21:45-22:25 - Tides From Nebula/ Instrumental Rock/ Warsaw, Poland

The band Tides From Nebula formed at the beginning of 2008. In one year they wrote 50 minutes of energetic, ambient and, most importantly, emotional instrumental guitar music.

In no time the band became the most important polish post-rock act and one of the best “export goods” in Poland. They have also established themselves as a great live band.

“I don’t think that there are currently many bands that perform so intensly as they do. They gave the impression of being really emotionally engaged in the show almost hipnotizing the audience with their behavior, choreography and above all with their sounds” “GITARIST MAGAZINE”

22:45-00:00 - The Ocean Collective/ Music with guitars in it/ Berlin, Germany

5 silhouettes, their backlit bodies moving frenetically in front of the huge LED lighting rigs, flashing synchronized to every little change in the music: watching THE OCEAN perform live is an experience.

The band originated in 2001, when mainman Robin Staps leased the basement of a former aluminum factory from World War II in the heart of Berlin-Kreuzberg.

"Ambitious and epic, dense and orchestral, the latest album from Germany's premier thinking man's metal collective The Ocean features a dizzying array of musical and vocal styles, from Mastodonian prog jags and Fear Factory jackhammer blasts to ethereal electronics and florid classical instrumentations", AMP (USA)
