Festival Bucharest Early Music Festival @ ArCub
Tuesday, December 3th, 2013 – 19:00
The Festival is dedicated to early music, spanning from medieval pieces to Renaissance, Baroque, Byzantine, and Gregorian music. Drawing on its generous theme, the Festival builds as a combined musical, visual, and theatrical experience transposing its public into a past cultural universe.
Primary attention is given to the authentic performance of early music, using exclusively historic instruments, or certified modern replicas. The artists invited to perform on the Festival’s stage are all established specialists of historically documented performance of early music.
The Festival’s originality relies on its Central-South East European roots. Based in Romania, a meeting point of Western, Byzantine, and Middle Eastern influences, it builds as a cross-cultural experience exploring the musical expressions of all these cultural traditions. http://www.earlymusic.ro/
